This page is, as far as I know, the definitive source for information on the classic arcade game, Burgertime!, by Data East. If you have any knowledge about the game that is not listed here, please mail me and let me know! [heavily under construction] Burgertime was produced in 1982 by Data East. The object of the game was to avoid the enemies while tromping burgers down the multi-platform levels to complete them at the bottom of the screen.
The player controlled the chef, Peter Pepper. The computer controlled the enemies, which took the form of eggs, hot dogs, and pickles that would try and 'get' you, resulting in Peter apparently having a fit. :)
The Plot: (object)
Score more points than your opponent while building hamburgers. Avoid dangerous hot dogs, pickles and eggs. Points are scored for dropping ingredients and squashing nasties. Maximum point value is received for giving those foes a ride on a falling bun, patty, tomato, or lettuce leaf. The Cast: (character explanations, sprites) The Levels: (bitmaps of each level, strategies) Music: (wav of music)? Scoring: SCORING CHART [from Intellivision version] 50 - Knocking a hamburger part from a horizontal plank 100 - Squashing a nasty with a falling hamburger part 500 - Giving 1 nasty a ride on a falling hamburger part 1000 - Giving 2 nasties a ride on a falling hamburger part 2000 - Giving 3 nasties a ride on a falling hamburger part 4000 - Giving 4 nasties a ride on a falling hamburger part 8000 - Giving 5 nasties a ride on a falling hamburger part 500 - Gobbling one of the "pinch of pepper" prizes (ice cream, coffee, ketchup, or french fries) | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
