ATOMIC RUNNER - CHELNOV

Actually, a JAMMAtized Wizard of Wor
Bought "as is" at Columbia Heights, MN Auction Fall 1998 for $65
Wouldn't power up.

The reason I bought it was because I had looked inside during the auction and saw some kind of weird something-to-JAMMA converter inside and knew Chelnov was JAMMA, so I figured there may have been a nice converter inside.

I took it home with the rest of my finds for the day, and once everything was moved in and the FUN games were tried out to make sure they still worked, I tried this one. No power. Oh well, I figured, I could always monkey with it later. I opened up the back to check out the converter, and couldn't really figure out what it was. I noticed the interlock switch was moved away from the door and turned off. Smirking, I turned it on and the power came on no problem. The game even started playing. In about five minutes it cut out, so I figured I just needed to replace the power supply..I had a few extra so it was no big deal.

After a little more investigation I learned that it was indeed an original Wizard of Wor upright. So, now I just need a Wizard of Wor kit and I can convert it back - I don't really need an extra H-JAMMA cabinet anyway.

Update: Never got around to doing anything with it - I sold it to Matt Hokkanen (another local collector) in the hopes that he'd be able to do something with it. I just decided I'd never find the time or energy to do anything with it. Good luck, Matt! :)
